Chelsea could make a move for AS Roma goalie Alisson Becker this summer. According to Italian football expert David Amoyal, the Blues are being tipped to land the Brazilian goalkeeper during this summer transfer period as it would be Maurizio Sarri’s dream signing. It is believed that the Napoli manager will take over as the new Chelsea boss and succeed Antonio Conte in the next few days and some reports are now claiming that the Italian coach will love to lure Alisson to Stamford Bridge.
In a recent interview, Amoyal addressed the future of the Brazilian goalkeeper and was quoted to have said, “We don’t know with Courtois if he’s going to stay.
“I think Alisson would have been the dream keeper for Sarri, but it looks pretty close he’ll go to Real Madrid.”
The Brazilian number one keeper has been in fine form for Roma over the last few years which has not gone unnoticed by other clubs. Liverpool were recently touted to make a move for the Serie A star but now it appears that Real Madrid have stolen a march and are in pole position to seal a move for the Brazilian keeper after the 2018 FIFA World Cup comes to a close.
The 25-year-old had made 49 appearances for the Italian giants last season, conceding 47 goals while keeping 22 clean sheets across all competitions.
The West London outfit had a fruitless campaign without silverware and also missed out on UEFA Champions League football after only managing to clinch a 5th placed finish in the English top-flight last season. They are in dire need to bring in some reinforcements during this ongoing transfer window who can help them compete for major trophies and get back to the Champions League next term.
The addition of Alisson will undoubtedly bolster Chelsea’s goalkeeping options at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have a whole host of quality goalies such as Thibaut Courtois, Willy Caballero and Eduardo Carvalho competing for a starting berth in their first XI. The potential acquisition of Alisson will definitely improve their side significantly and add more competition for places within the Chelsea squad.

At 25, the Brazilian shot-stopper still has his peak years ahead of him which the London giants could look to utilise in the next few years. Only time will tell what lies ahead in the future of Alisson and whether he ends up making a switch to West London before the start of the new campaign.
