Leicester City can be raided by the big fishes in the transfer market as the likes of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have been linked with a move away from the club. However, the Foxes will certainly try tooth and nail to make sure they don’t lose both of their gems in the same transfer window. As a result, they are keen on signing a new improved contract with Jamie Vardy which will keep him at the King Power Stadium for a considerable time.
Vardy has his contract up until 2020 but due to recent rumours of him being linked to Atletico Madrid, Leicester City will be keen on improving his current deal. Vardy was signed in 2012 when they were in the Championship and both the player and the club has seen a fairytale success in the Premier League.
The English forward has been indispensable in the last few years and even in the current campaign, he scored 23 goals in all competitions.
Because of his playing style, Atletico Madrid were considered as the favourites to have him but it seems that the 31-year-old will commit his future at the King Power Stadium for few more years to come.
One cannot imagine the current Leicester team without Jamie Vardy starting upfront and he will certainly be in Claude Puel’s plan for the next season. The Englishman has a rags to riches story as he used to play in the non-league and since his move to Leicester, he has gone to represent the Three Lions at the top level. He is expected to play some sort of role in the upcoming World cup and Leicester will be hoping that they sort out his new contract before he flies for Russia.
One can understand why he is wanted at Atletico Madrid as he will suit their game style. He is a perfect striker to have in a counter-attacking system as he is always willing to make those runs between the defence lines. His work rate is terrific and he even chases the lost causes. He is known for his blistering pace and can be a difficult customer to handle for any defence.

Nevertheless, Leicester will be hoping that Vardy will still turn out for them next season. The Foxes management gave him the captaincy armband in the last few games and that goes to show that how much of an influence he has on the team.
