Sebastian Larsson, the veteran Swedish midfielder can leave Hull City after his contract is set to expire next month. The midfielder was a regular feature for the Tigers in the middle of the park this season as he racked up 40 appearances in all competitions. He was signed by Hull City in last year’s summer transfer window.
According to reports, the Tigers have offered him a new contract and are keen on keeping the former Arsenal midfielder at the club. However, it seems that Larsson wants to play in his home country for next season and he will decide on his future after the World Cup where he is set to play a huge part for the Swedish national team.
The midfielder has been playing in the English Leagues since 2014 and has never actually played for a Swedish outfit professionally. The central midfielder was one of the few players who had a decent season at the KCOM stadium as the Tigers finished at a lowly 18th. Their situation could have been worse if not for Liverpool‘s loanee Harry Wilson’s performances in the latter half who scored 7 goals and provided 4 assists in just 13 appearances.
Hull City will be hoping that the midfielder will sign a new contract with them but it seems unlikely now and according to reports, Swedish giants AIK are looking to bring him in at their club. The midfielder has been around the blocks for quite a while and has a whole lot of experience in the English league. A club like Hull City will certainly find it difficult to replace a player of his abilities and experience in the summer.
Nigel Adkins will have to resurrect the slide which the Tigers are going through. One would have expected better from a team who were recently in the English top flight and if they keep on losing their players, it will be a hard task for the manager to bring back the club to its glory days,

One cannot blame Larsson for feeling the need to go back in his home country as since 16 he has been playing in the English Leagues. He will have opportunities to play in European competitions with AIK and that will certainly be tempting for the 32-year-old central midfielder. From Hull’s point of view, they can’t do much to prevent Larrson from leaving and the management will be regretting the fact that they signed the midfielder on a one year contract in the first place.
