Benfica left back Alex Grimaldo is reportedly also being scouted by Bayern Munich and Arsenal. Also, Pep Guardiola went to Portugal to see him play against Sporting Braga.
Grimaldo came through the ranks of Barcelona academy but failed to establish himself in the first team. He was eventually sold to Benfica in January this year. Grimaldo has so far played 12 games for the Portuguese side and has two assists to his name. Manchester City
Manchester City have been searching for a left back in the Transfer Market for a long time and it seems they have finally found their target. Grimaldo has a contract until 2021 and has a release clause of £51m.
Arsenal were earlier linked with the youngster when he was with the Catalans. But the Spanish chose to join the Portuguese side.
Arsenal are believed to be still in the race to sign the full back but they will face a stiff competition from Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
