Barcelona are confident about their chances of extending Samuel Umtiti’s contract amidst speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United this summer. According to recent reports, the Catalans are set to offer a new and improved deal to the French defender and are hoping to finalise the principles of the contract with the player’s agent next week.
It is believed that Ernesto Valverde’s side are keen on retaining the Yaounde-born centre-back’s services as they look to establish their dominance in both domestic and European competitions in the coming years. The 24-year-old forward’s current contract with Barca is set to expire in the summer of 2021.
