Tottenham Hotspur went head to head with Manchester United at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening. Mauricio Pochettino opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation and his team tried to stamp their authority early on and got off to a dream start when Dele Alli scored in the 11th minute. However, United scored an equaliser in the 24th minute through Alexis Sanchez’s header and got a strong foothold in the game. Both sides tried their best but couldn’t find a goal before half-time.
The second half began with the Red Devils on the front foot and dominating possession. They netted a deserved winner courtesy of Ander Herrera’s smart finish from just inside the penalty area. The match ended with Mourinho’s United progressing into the final of the FA Cup with a 2-1 scoreline in their favour.
