Tottenham Hotspur are planning on making a swoop for Leicester City wide man Demarai Gray this summer. According to recent reports, Spurs are looking to secure the services of the English winger when the transfer window opens in the summer. It is believed that the North London outfit wanted to sign him last summer but the Foxes were reluctant to do business at that time.
However, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is still keeping tabs on his development at the King Power Stadium. Gray has made 40 appearances for the West Midlands club this season, scoring 4 goals while grabbing 3 assists in all competitions. He is also the current skipper of the England Under-21 team and has put in some impressive displays for both his club and country over the last few years.
Some sources are now claiming that Gray could consider a move elsewhere this summer in search of more first-team opportunities as most of his appearances this season have come from the bench. Tottenham are on the lookout for some attacking options in the summer and are eager on buying talented youngsters who can be developed under Pochettino.
The North London side are sitting in the 4th spot in the English top-flight standings with a tally of 68 points after playing 34 league games. Pochettino is currently preparing his team for a highly significant clash versus Manchester United in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. This Spurs squad requires a few quality acquisitions in the summer to help them bridge the gap to Manchester City in the coming years.
The potential coup of Gray will undoubtedly bolster Pochettino’s attacking options ahead of the new campaign. Tottenham Hotspur have talented wide players such as Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura, Moussa Sissoko, Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen vying for a place in the Spurs first-team. The possible summer addition of Gray will definitely add more competition for places in their squad.

The English winger is highly versatile and can operate in a number of different positions across the midfield. He can play on either flank or in the number 10 position which makes him a perfect fit for Pochettino’s style of play at Spurs. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Gray and whether he ends up making a switch to North London in the near future.
