Arsene Wenger has showered praises on newly signed Lucas Perez. Perez scored a brace as Arsenal thrashed Nottingham Forest. Wenger was delighted with Perez’s all round show.
Perez was signed from Deportive La Coruna for £17.1m and Wenger seems very happy with the way the striker has performed. “He has shown what I expected from him that he works hard for the team, he can score goals but that he can be a team player, especially for our fourth goal when he played in Chamberlain. He played a big part in that.
“I’m very pleased with the effort that he put in and the quality he has shown.”
It proved to be a good day for Wenger as new signing Granit Xhaka was also on the target.
Perez was in sublime form as he first converted a penalty and then scored a superb goal that would surely boost his confidence. He was also responsible for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s goal. Perez will give a tough competition to Olivier Giroud who has been inconsistent for the past couple of seasons.
