Chelsea is confident that captain John Terry will be fully fit for the Arsenal game on Saturday. Chelsea lost their last match 2-1 against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge and though the recently signed Brazilian defender David Luiz replaced Terry, he couldn’t do much in the game.
Terry suffered an ankle injury in the dying minutes of the match against Swansea.
Antonio Conte will not risk Terry against their EFL Cup Third round match against Leicester City but he is pretty sure that the veteran defender will be back before they travel to the Emirates Stadium.
“John is recovering,” I saw him outside today [at Cobham] and he is recovering. After this game we’ll see his physical condition.” “It’s been a good response [to the Liverpool loss],”
Conte added. “We are disappointed about the defeat against Liverpool because we gave away two goals and it was our first defeat of the season, but during training I’ve seen the right intensity, the right commitment from the players and, now, we have a very tough game against Leicester. We are ready.”
