In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid are hoping to re-sign Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez. It has been stated that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring the Spanish defender back to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.
Gutierrez’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football This Season
Gutierrez is having an impressive campaign at Girona after he produced a series of solid performances on the left side of their defence. The Spaniard has played in 13 matches for his current employers this season, scoring one goal and securing one assist in the process on all fronts.
The 23-year-old has been a decent contributor on the left flank based on his average of 1.8 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 0.8 shots, 1.8 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball after making 88.9% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).
Gutierrez is under contract at the Spanish club until the summer of 2027. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Madrid giants to bring the Spanish talent back to the Bernabeu on the cheap next year.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Bring Gutierrez Back?
Gutierrez loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the front foot. The Spanish sensation can strike the ball with venom from long range and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes from the left flank. He is a good dribbler with the ball as well and is already proving his worth as a consistent performer in La Liga.
Thus, Gutierrez would be a great fit for Real Madrid‘s needs next year as he would bring more quality and depth to Carlo Ancelotti’s defence. He has what it takes to nail down a regular starting place at the Madrid club.
At 23, Gutierrez has got a bright future ahead of him. Therefore, Los Blancos would be wise to go all out to bring him back to the Spanish capital when the transfer window reopens this January or at the end of this campaign.
