According to Caught Offside, Premier League club Liverpool have identified Red Bull Salzburg right-back Amar Dedic as an ideal replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose future remains uncertain at Anfield beyond this season.
Amar Dedic is on a good run
Amar Dedic joined Red Bull Salzburg’s Academy at a young age and had to work hard to climb up the ladders. He made his senior team debut in 2022 and has not looked back since then. He has established himself as a mainstay in the squad.
Dedic continues to feature regularly for the German side as he has already appeared in 17 games this season, assisting four goals. He is averaging 1.4 tackles, 0.2 interceptions, and 1.2 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).
The Bosnia-Herzegovina international is versatile to play on both sides as a full-back. He is aggressive in nature and likes to attack going forward. However, he is also solid in the defensive aspects and provides stability to the team.
Liverpool asked for information on Amar Dedic
Liverpool are trying their best to keep Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract expires at the end of the season. Both parties even initiated contract renewal talks, but no progress has been made. With Real Madrid’s interest intensifying, anything can happen in the future.
Hence, the Reds are exploring options in the market to target if the English international leaves Anfield. They have the likes of Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, AS Monaco’s Vanderson and LOSC Lille’s Tiago Santos on their wishlist but the pursuit of Amar Dedic seems the easiest.
Red Bull Salzburg are reportedly willing to let the 22-year-old leave at a reasonable price despite holding his rights until 2027. Signing Dedic won’t be a hard task to execute for Liverpool. But they will wait for Trent’s situation to be solved and then take the final call.
