In a recent report, AS mentioned that Real Madrid remain keen on recruiting Al-Nassr defender Aymeric Laporte. It has been stated that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring the Spain international to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.
Laporte’s Impressive Form In Saudi Football
Laporte has enjoyed a good run of form for the Saudi club during this campaign as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The Spaniard has been involved in 12 matches for Al-Nassr this season, scoring three goals across multiple competitions.
The 30-year-old has been a rock at the back for the Saudi outfit, so it is no surprise that Real Madrid are eager to bring him back to Spain next year. He already knows La Liga well from his time at Athletic Bilbao and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Madrid club.
His current contract at Al-Nassr will run out in the summer of 2026 which could open the door for Los Blancos to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Snap Laporte Up?
Laporte loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his side on the defensive third of the pitch. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and can use his strong 1.91m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels.
The Spanish sensation can even chip in by scoring the odd goal for his team. Thus, it makes sense for Los Blancos to go for a player of his quality when the transfer window reopens this January or next summer.
Laporte would bring more bite and steel to Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s defence. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming seasons.
At 30, Laporte has still got a few good years left in him to play at his best. Therefore, he would be a good addition to the Madrid club‘s squad in the short term. With all things considered, Ancelotti should focus on going all out to snap him up in 2025.
