Pau Torres arrived at Aston Villa in the 2023 summer from Villarreal for a fee of £31.5 million. Since then, he has been a key member of the squad. He has emerged as one of the best performers for his side and helped them turn into a dangerous side.
Torres made 39 appearances last season, in which he had two goals and one assist to his name. He averaged 1 tackle, 0.5 interceptions, and 2.6. clearances per game (stats via whoscored).
The Spanish centre-back is an intelligent defender who reads the game really well. He constantly works on his positioning and remains calm under pressure. His ball-playing ability is also great apart from strong physicality and long reach.
