Gakpo Gets 9, Quansah With 5.5 | Liverpool Players Rated In Hard-Fought Win Vs Brighton

Liverpool locked horns with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result in the EFL Cup. The Reds made a good start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Cody Gakpo opened the goal-scoring with a brilliant strike in the 46th minute. Gakpo doubled his team’s advantage in the 63rd minute. Simon Adingra got a goal back for the home side in the 81st minute but Luis Diaz killed the game off with a good finish just four minutes later. Tariq Lamptey got another goal back for Brighton late in the game but Arne Slot’s men held on to their slender advantage and secured a hard-fought 3-2 win away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player fared during the clash against the Seagulls.

Jaros made a handful of important saves during the game but would be disappointed after conceding two goals late in the game.

He kept things solid at the back for most of the game and had a few lively moments in the opponent’s half.

CB: Joe Gomez – 6.5/10

Gomez cleared the danger when he could but didn’t do enough to keep a clean sheet.

CB: Jarell Quansah – 5.5/10

He kept things tidy at the back for most of the game but committed a costly error late in the game.
