Tottenham Hotspur will face off against Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Wednesday night as they look to secure a victory in the EFL Cup. Spurs suffered a tough 1-0 loss at the hands of Arsenal in the North London derby recently, so they would be eager to bounce back with a positive result in midweek.
Ange Postecoglu will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation once again and could make a lot of changes to his first team for this game. Pape Matar Sarr, Timo Werner and Ben Davies might all get a chance to play from the start of this clash.
4-3-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Coventry City
Defence
Fraser Forster will feature in between the sticks for Spurs as he looks to keep a clean sheet away from home. Ben Davies will function alongside Radu Dragusin at the centre of Tottenham’s backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Djed Spence will operate as the right-back while Destiny Udogie keeps his place on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Cristian Romero and Pedro Porro will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr and Archie Gray will make up Postecoglu’s midfield. All three of them need to retain possession well at the centre of the park and create some decent chances in the final third.
James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur will be rested on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Timo Werner will try to catch the eye on the left flank while Wilson Odobert hopes to put his pace to good use on the right flank. Dominic Solanke will lead the charge for the North London club down the middle. He has to find a way to be a constant menace on the offensive end of the field if Tottenham want to come away with a win from the Coventry Building Society Arena this Wednesday night.
Heung-min Son and Brennan Johnson will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if required.
