Aston Villa will lock horns with Young Boys at the Wankdorf Stadium on Tuesday evening as they look to secure a victory in the UEFA Champions League. The Villans managed to earn a hard-fought 3-2 win over Everton recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.
Unai Emery will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation once again and is expected to make some tweaks to his first team for this clash. Ian Maatsen and Kosta Nedeljković could both get a chance to impress from the start of this game.
4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Young Boys
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will function in between the sticks for the West Midlands club after shipping in two goals in his last appearance. Ezri Konsa will continue to operate alongside Pau Torres at the heart of the Aston Villa defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the 90 minutes.
Kosta Nedeljković will try to catch the eye as the right-back while Ian Maatsen fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half at every chance they get.
Lucas Digne and Diego Carlos will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Youri Tielemans will anchor the midfield along with Amadou Onana as they look to dictate the tempo of the game in the middle of the park. The talented trio of John McGinn, Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey will play just ahead of them as part of Emery’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if the Villans are to secure a convincing victory this Tuesday evening.
Ross Barkley and Emi Buendia will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will lead the line for Aston Villa up top. He would be full of confidence going into this game after scoring a brace in the 3-2 win over Everton last weekend.
Jhon Duran will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come to influence the game in the final quarter if needed.
