Gvardiol Gets 8, Gundogan With 5.5 | Manchester City Players Rated In Lackluster Draw Vs Newcastle United

Manchester City faced off against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier today as they hoped to earn a positive result on the road. Pep Guardiola‘s men made a solid start to the contest and got their noses ahead in the 35th minute thanks to Josko Gvardiol’s finish. Man City went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Anthony Gordon equalised for Newcastle from the penalty spot in the 58th minute as Man City were held to a lackluster 1-1 draw at St. James’ Park.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player performed during the clash against the Magpies.

GK: Ederson – 6/10

The Brazilian keeper made some solid saves at the back but gave away a penalty which he failed to save in the second half.

RB: Kyle Walker – 7/10

He performed his defensive duties well but offered very little going forward.

CB: Ruben Dias – 6/10

Dias cleared his lines when he could but failed to keep a clean sheet.

CB: Manuel Akanji – 6.5/10

He was a rock at the back for most of the game but his efforts were not enough for Man City to win this contest.

CM: Rico Lewis – 6/10

He caught the eye at times on both halves and was accurate with his passing.

RW: Bernardo Silva – 6.5/10

Silva linked up play well with others around him but there was no goal for him.

CAM: Ilkay Gundogan – 5.5/10

He had a lot of bad touches inside the Newcastle half and was replaced after the hour mark.

LW: Jack Grealish – 7.5/10

Grealish caused a lot of headaches for the opposition defenders but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.

ST: Erling Haaland – 6.5/10
