In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Tottenham Hotspur are close to signing Gangwon FC winger Min-hyuk Yang this summer. It is believed that Spurs are eyeing a move to bring the South Korean youngster to North London in this transfer window.
Yang’s Impressive Rise In South Korean Football
Yang has enjoyed a meteoric rise at the South Korean club as he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 18-year-old has found the back of the net seven times and picked up three assists in 24 matches for Gangwon last season across all fronts.
The talented teenager has caught the eye with his performances for his current employers on the right flank. However, he is still quite raw and would need some time to adjust to life in the Premier League if Spurs manage to lure him to North London this summer.
At the moment, Yang is enjoying his football at Gangwon but the jury is still out on whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football.
Tottenham Hotspur Are Close To Signing Yang: Is He A Star In The Making?
Yang is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with the ball out on the flanks. He has got the vision to orchestrate some decent openings for his teammates up top and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.
The South Korean whizkid did well to chip in by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. Yang mainly plays as a right-winger but can also play on the left flank if needed. However, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to prove his worth in England if Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu manages to snap him up this summer.
At 18, Yang could be a star in the making and would be an excellent signing for Spurs in the long run. However, he might struggle to maintain his good form in Premier League football. Still, Postecoglu would be wise to try everything in his power to bring Yang on board before the end of this transfer window.
