In a recent report, Calciomercato mentioned that Manchester United are facing stiff competition for Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadioglu. It has been stated that the Red Devils would have to rival Newcastle United, Liverpool and Juventus in the race to land the Turkish talent.
Kadioglu’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football
Kadioglu put in a series of impressive displays on the left side of Fenerbahce’s backline. The 24-year-old registered three goals and five assists in 51 appearances for the Turkish outfit last season in multiple competitions.
The Turkish talent has been a decent performer in the final third based on his average of 2.0 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 1.6 clearances, 0.9 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in the Turkish Super Lig. He has even been excellent when distributing the ball from inside his half after making 84.8% of his attempted passes in the Turkish top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Turkish club will expire in the summer of 2026. Hence, it won’t be easy for Man United to get a cut-price deal done for him in this transfer window.
Is Kadioglu A Good Choice For Manchester United?
Kadioglu is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when needed and can shoot the ball with power from long range. The Turkish starlet has also got the eye to orchestrate some decent chances for others around him in the final third. He is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
We can expect Kadioglu to add more firepower to Man United‘s backline. He would also help the Red Devils challenge across all fronts in the coming seasons. At 24, Kadioglu has his best years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for the Mancunian giants to pursue later this summer.
However, Kadioglu might need some time to adapt to the physical style and high intensity of Premier League football. Still, the Red Devils would be wise to try everything they can to sign him as he would be a great choice for them in the long run.
