Manchester City have been long admirers of Wolves’ Pedro Neto and want to add him to their ranks in the summer transfer window, as per The Telegraph. The former club believe that the winger will add a lot of value and depth to their unit.
Pedro Neto struggled with injuries this season
Pedro Neto signed for Wolves in the summer of 2019 and has been associated with them since then. Over time, he has developed his game and emerged as a reliable name on the team sheet. Today, he is one of the most exciting wingers in the Premier League.
Neto is an extremely versatile attacker who can play on both wingers as well as the centre-forward. At times, he also features as an attacking midfielder. He is a creative pick with great dribbling skills and visionary passing abilities. The player is also good at taking set pieces but lacks a bit of finishing.
The Portuguese forward has netted three goals and provided 11 assists in 24 games in the ongoing campaign. He is averaging 1.8 shots, 1.9 key passes, and 1.9 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored). He has achieved these numbers despite struggling with two separate hamstring injuries this season.
Will Manchester City submit an official move?
Despite Pedro Neto’s recent injury concerns, Manchester City remain interested in signing the quality attacker. The Premier League champions are always in search of adding versatile, technical, and creative players to their squad.
The arrival of the 24-year-old will help the Citizens continue their domination in European football. Amid the uncertainty over the future of Kevin de Bruyne and Jack Grealish, the club must stay close to signing alternatives.
Though Wolves are not under pressure to sell their hot properties, boss Gary O’Neil recently revealed that they won’t be able to bring new players if they don’t offload a couple of big names. Hence, Neto’s departure should help them raise funds to finance other buys.
It is understood that Wolves will not accept any offer below £60m.
