La Liga side Barcelona have identified Girona attacker Viktor Tsygankov as a viable target for the summer transfer window, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes. However, they will make a move for the forward only if Raphinha leaves the club.
Viktor Tsygankov has been impressive in La Liga
Viktor Tsygankov came through the ranks of Dynamo Kyiv before joining Girona in the winter of 2023. In a short time, he has established himself as a reliable name on the scoresheet. He has been instrumental in Girona’s impressive campaign this term.
Tsygankov has featured in 30 games this season, netting six goals and providing six assists. He is averaging 1.3 shots, 0.9 key passes, and 0.5 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored). Though the numbers aren’t very lucrative, his contributions have been beyond it.
The 26-year-old attacker is an ideal modern-day attacking player. He has got good abilities on the ball and likes to play short passes. He is clinical with his finishes near the penalty box and is extremely good at taking set pieces.
A replacement for Raphinha?
Barcelona winger Raphinha’s future at the club has come under the radar. Though the club is satisfied with his performances, they might be tempted to offload him in the summer to raise funds due to the continued financial crisis.
The sale of the Brazilian attacker will bring good money to the Spanish club as multiple clubs are reportedly interested in signing him. If that happens, the club will have to sign a fresh attacker in the transfer window to replace Raphinha.
That’s when Viktor Tsygankov comes into the picture. Barcelona will launch a move and try to sign the Ukranian if Raphinha leaves. However, it depends upon a lot of factors. Apart from Barcelona, Bundesliga side Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on the attacker.
