After facing a 5-0 humiliation against Arsenal, Chelsea settled for a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa. However, they finally showed a better display of football as they overpowered Tottenham Hotspur by 2-0 in their previous game on Thursday.
The Blues will next lock horns with West Ham United in the Premier League at home on Sunday. They are eighth in the domestic points table with 51 points after 34 games. They will aim to finish the ongoing campaign as high as possible.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup Vs West Ham United
Defence
Djordje Petrovic did well in the previous game and should be operating between the sticks once again. Alfie Gilchrist was forced off towards the end but seems like he will be fine to start as the right full-back.
The centre-back duo of Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah did well to keep the dangerous Spurs’ offensive line in check. Once again they form the heart of the defence. Marc Cucurella has done nothing wrong to not play as the left-back.
Midfield
Expect Cesare Casadei to start on the bench as Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher are likely to form the holding midfield duo.
Mykhailo Mykhalo and Noni Madueke also continue to operate on the flanks with Cole Palmer deployed in the middle. The latter will be desperate to find the back of the net and better his already good numbers in this term.
Attack
Nicolas Jackson, who scored the crucial game against Spurs, leads the offensive line. However, one could argue that he needs to improve his decision-making.
The Blues have a list of injuries in the form of Axel Disasi (knock), Levi Colwill (toe), Christopher Nkunku (thigh), Enzo Fernandez (hernia), Wesley Fofana (knee), Romeo Lavia (thigh), Lesley Ugochukwu (thigh), Reece James (thigh), Raheem Sterling (back), Malo Gusto (knee), Ben Chilwell (knee), Carney Chukwuemeka (knee), Thiago Silva (groin) and Robert Sanchez (unspecified).
