In a recent report, Tuttosport mentioned that West Ham United are among the clubs hoping to land Inter Milan ace Valentin Carboni who is currently playing on loan at Monza. It has been stated that the Hammers would have to rival Brentford among other clubs in the race to sign the Argentine attacker in the summer.
Carboni’s Decent Loan Spell At Monza
Carboni is having an impressive loan spell at Monza as he has managed to put in a few eye-catching displays for them in the final third. The 19-year-old has banged in two goals and grabbed four assists in 26 matches for the Italian outfit this season in various competitions.
The talented teenager has made most of his appearances off the bench which explains why he is only averaging 0.7 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been careful when distributing the ball in the final third based on his pass success rate of 85% in the Italian top flight (stats via whoscored).
Carboni is under contract at his parent club Inter Milan until the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for West Ham to recruit him on a cut-price deal at the end of this campaign.
Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Snap Carboni Up?
Carboni can create some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some meaningful chances for his teammates in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. At the moment, Carboni is enjoying his football at Monza. However, there are some concerns over whether the Argentine youngster can make a smooth transition to life in Premier League football.
Carboni would add more firepower to West Ham head coach David Moyes’ attack. He is good enough to help the Hammers compete across all fronts in the coming years, so Moyes would be wise to go all out to snap him up this summer.
At 19, Carboni has got the potential to become a top performer in his position someday which makes him a good, long-term option for West Ham to pursue when the transfer window commences later this year.
