In a recent report, Boca Noticias revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Boca Juniors midfielder Cristian Medina this summer. It is believed that Spurs have identified the Argentine talent as a target for the upcoming transfer window.
Medina’s Impressive Rise In Argentine Football
Medina has come through the youth ranks of Boca Juniors and has done well to prove his worth as a first-team starter for them recently. The Argentine prospect has already played in 138 senior matches for the Argentine club thus far, scoring eight goals and grabbing nine assists in all competitions.
The 21-year-old has caught the eye at times with his performances in the middle of the park. He is currently one of the most promising young midfielders in South American football.
His current deal at Boca Juniors will run out at the end of 2027. Thus, it won’t be easy for Spurs to get a deal done for him on the cheap in the summer.
Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu Go For Medina?
Medina is a decent tackler of the ball and usually works hard for his team defensively. He can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third.
The Argentine talent is a good dribbler with the ball as well and can chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play in the number ten position or as a right-sided wide player if needed.
We can expect Medina to add more quality to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s midfield department in the long run. He has what it takes to serve as an important member of the North London club‘s squad next season if he can make a smooth transition to life in England.
At 21, Medina has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Thus, it makes sense for Spurs to go for him when the transfer commences at the end of this season.
