The emergence of Coco Gauff into the tennis scene and her meteoric rise to the top of the charts are just the reasons why Tennis is an immensely beautiful and rewarding game. The 20-year-old American tennis star has reached career-high WTA rankings of 3rd in Singles and World Number 1 in doubles.
The moment that completely changed Coco Gauff’s career trajectory was when she successfully defeated her idol, Venus Williams, in the first round of Wimbledon in 2019. She has marched from strength to strength from there on and her growth has been on an exponential scale.

“Thank you, first, to my parents. Today was the first time I’ve ever seen my dad cry. Thank you guys, you believed in me from the beginning. My dad took me to this tournament. [I watched] Venus and Serena compete, so it’s incredible to be on this stage.”
Who are Coco Gauff’s parents?
Candi Gauff and Corey Gauff are the faces behind the emerging tennis sensation – Coco Gauff. The couple have more kids along with Coco – two young boys named Cody and Cameron.
Candi and Corey have been married for over 20 years now. A lot of their support and understanding of Coco’s decisions in life and career stems from the fact that they were highly competitive athletes. Corey played basketball for Georgia State University while Candi was a part of the track and field team at Florida State University. Candi’s performance at the 1991 heptathlon is still considered to be amongst the best scores in FSU history.
The extent of their dedication and determination to make Coco’s career prosperous can be highlighted by the fact that they even gave up their respective professional lives to lay more emphasis on their child. Their learning, understanding and shortcomings from their experiences as athletes have allowed them to pave a straightforward and effective path to making Coco a professional athlete.
