Premier League side Arsenal have set their eyes on Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise for the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The club want to add him to their ranks to bolster the attacking unit ahead of the next season.
Michael Olise is a gifted winger
Michael Olise signed for Crystal Palace in the summer of 2021. Despite getting limited game time in his first season, he managed to impress everyone with his performances. As time passed, he cemented a position in the starting lineup for himself.
However, things have been a bit off in this term for the French winger, who has been struggling with multiple injuries. Despite that, he has netted six goals and provided three assists in 13 games this season. He is averaging 2.5 shots, 1.9 key passes, and 2.3 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
Olise plays on the right flank and is an extremely gifted player. He has raw pace, and great dribbling and shooting skills. He likes to cut inside towards the goal to create threats. The youngster is also accurate with his crosses, key passes and free-kicks.
A long-term investment for Arsenal
Though Arsenal have made good progress over the past few seasons, boss Mikel Arteta believes his side still has gaps to fill. He wants to strengthen the offensive line to fight for all the major trophies next season. Hence, the acquisition of Michael Olise is being discussed at the club.
The Gunners feel that the 22-year-old will fit well in the current setup. He will also provide the much-needed depth on the right flank. Olise has returned from the hamstring injury and has regained full fitness. He is feeling good and is again hitting the pre-injury form.
The winger has a £65 million release clause on his contract, which Arsenal are willing to meet. However, they will have to check with the Premier League’s financial regulations before making a move in the summer.
