First, West Ham United got knocked out of the Europa League at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen. Then they faced a 5-2 defeat against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. However, things aren’t going to get any better in the coming weeks.
The Hammers have four games remaining this season, out of which three are against Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City. They will have to grind hard to avoid getting humiliated towards the end of the campaign. They next lock horns with Jurgen Klopp’s side this weekend.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup Vs Liverpool
Defence
Alphonse Areola has regained his full fitness and is expected to return between the sticks, replacing Lukasz Fabianski. Though right-back Vladimir Coufal might keep his place in the lineup, he needs to step up in both aspects of the game.
Nayef Aguerd suffered an ankle blow and will be assessed before the match day. If he gets the green light, he should be forming the centre-back duo with Kurt Zouma. It means Angelo Ogbonna will start on the bench. Emerson Palmieri will also continue operating at the left full-back position.
Midfield
No change in the holding midfield duo of Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez. They will have to play a vital role if the Hammers want to dethrone the Reds.
While Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta take charge of the wings, James Ward-Prowse will look to link up the midfield with the offensive line in the middle.
Attack
Michail Antonio was able to find the back of the net in the previous game. He must be clinical in the final third as Liverpool’s backline won’t provide too many chances throughout the game.
Jarrod Bowen is likely to be available for selection. However, Konstantinos Mavropanos’ participation is under the radar due to an ankle injury.
