Manchester United will clash heads with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Thursday night as they look to secure a positive result on the road in the Premier League. The Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw away at Brentford recently, so they would be eager to pick up maximum points in midweek.
Erik ten Hag will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could name a strong first team for this game. Casemiro and Harry Maguire will get a chance to impress from the start of this game.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Andre Onana will function in goal for Man United after conceding one goal in his last league appearance. Raphael Varane is a slight doubt for this game but should get the nod to play alongside Harry Maguire at the centre of ten Hag’s defence as they look to keep the opposition at bay throughout the game.
Diogo Dalot will keep his spot at right-back while Aaron Wan-Bissaka hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Lisandro Martinez will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro will function as the holding midfielders as they try to win the 50-50 battles in the middle of the park. The gifted trio of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho will operate just ahead of them as part of the Man United attack. All three of them need to move the ball well so that they can engineer some decent chances in the final third.
Mason Mount and Christian Eriksen will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Rasmus Hojlund will spearhead Man United’s attack up top. He would be keen on producing a good display for the Red Devils in front of the opponent’s goal.
Anthony will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the latter stages of the game if required.
