The much-awaited Manchester Derby will finally take place in the Premier League this weekend. Manchester United will travel to Etihad Stadium to face the City. They come into the match after securing a win against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup 5th round.
The recent win will definitely boost the Red Devils’ confidence to face one of the most in-form teams across Europe. It will be a crucial game for them in hopes of finishing in the top four positions in the domestic league. They cannot afford to drop any further points.
4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup Vs Manchester City
Defence
Andre Onana will once again line up in the goal for Manchester United. He made some crucial saves in the previous game to keep a clean sheet. Diogo Dalot has improved his game in both attacking and defensive aspects. He will continue to be the right-back for the team.
While Raphael Varane is an automatic pick as the centre-back, Victor Lindelof will continue to accompany him. Both Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez are injured and will not be available for the contest.
Sofyan Amrabat will continue to operate as the left-back despite having a dismal performance in his previous outing. He would like to put that game behind him and contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming fixtures.
Midfield
While Scott McTominay and Casemiro will retain their respective positions in the midfield, young sensation Kobbie Mainoo is likely to get his first derby experience. He has become an integral part of the side and was even given a rest in the last game to keep him fresh for the big game.
Attack
Bruno Fernandes will probably operate at the right flank as Antony or Amad Diallo haven’t been convincing enough in the recent games. The Red Devils will also miss the services of in-form striker Rasmus Hojlund, who suffered a muscle injury.
In his absence, Marcus Rashford is likely to take up the duty. The team will be heavily dependent upon him to find the back of the net. Alejandro Garnacho will be deployed on the left wing.
