Newcastle United faced off against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Magpies made a poor start to the contest as they conceded the opening goal in the sixth-minute when Nicolas Jackson got his name on the scoresheet. However, Eddie Howe’s men managed to equalise in the 43rd minute with the help of Alexander Isak’s effort. The two teams went into the half-time interval locked in a 1-1 scoreline.
Cole Palmer fired Chelsea ahead in the 57th minute before Mykhailo Mudryk scored again for the home team in the 76th minute. Jacob Murphy scored a consolation goal for the Magpies in the 90 minute as they crashed to a tough 3-2 loss on the road.
