Newcastle United will host West Ham United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League this weekend. They faced a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup before the international break.
Positioned at No. 10 in the domestic points table, the Magpies don’t have much to aim for this season. Hence, they will be playing for pride and also look to provide opportunities to young buds. They have already started planning for next season.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup Vs West Ham United
Defence
Martin Dubravka will once again line up between the sticks for Newcastle United and would be eager to keep a clean sheet on Saturday.
Emil Krafth is expected to take charge of the right-back position as Kieran Trippier is unavailable for the game. The centre-back duo of Jamaal Lascelles and Fabian Schar remain intact. Their performance will be important against West Ham United. For the left-back position, 31-year-old Dan Burn is the front-runner.
Midfield
No changes in the midfield unit as Bruno Guimaraes, Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff will once again to on the field. While Guimaraes has been pretty decent in the previous outings, the other two should step up their game in the upcoming fixtures.
Attack
Jacob Murphy’s role at the backline didn’t work quite well against Manchester City and he should be returning to his original forward position. Alexander Isak will continue to operate on the left wing with Anthony Gordon playing in the middle.
The attacking unit hasn’t been up to the mark this season so far and should finding the back of the net more often.
Nick Pope is nearing a return but will not be available for the contest. Joelinton, Callum Wilson, Lewis Miley and Sven Botman are other notable absentees for Eddie Howe’s side. Even Tino Livramento’s participation is subject to fitness.
