In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Barcelona winger Raphinha is gathering interest from Arsenal. It is believed that the Gunners are keen on signing the Brazilian wide player from the Catalan club this summer.
Raphinha’s Impressive Numbers At The Nou Camp
The 27-year-old has been a good performer for Barca during this campaign as he has managed to produce a series of fruitful displays for them in the opponent’s half. Raphinha has banged in five goals and picked up eight assists in 25 appearances for the Catalan club this season across multiple competitions.
The Brazilian talent has been a reliable presence in the final third based on his average of 2.1 shots, 1.5 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has even been accurate when interchanging possession with his teammates after making 80.1% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Nou Camp will expire in the summer of 2027. Hence, Barca are under no pressure to cash in on him at the end of this campaign.
Should Barcelona Cut Raphinha Loose This Summer?
Raphinha is an excellent dribbler with the ball and can make a few dangerous runs with the ball out on the flanks. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and can make some decent plays for others around him in the final third.
The Brazilian talent is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also play on the left wing if needed. He can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the wide areas.
At the moment, Raphinha is one of Xavi’s top performers at Barcelona. Thus, the Catalan club should not cut Raphinha loose when the transfer window reopens later this year. At 27, Raphinha is playing in his prime and could play an important role at the Nou Camp in the coming seasons.
However, Barca‘s recent financial concerns could see them cash in on the Brazilian wing wizard in the upcoming transfer window. He is still under a long-term contract, so the Catalan outfit should only let him go if they receive a favourable offer for him at the end of this season.
