In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Barcelona are eyeing a loan move for Joao Felix who is currently on loan from Atletico Madrid. It has been stated that the Catalan club are hoping to sign the Portugal international on another season-long loan deal in the summer.
Felix’s Impressive Run Of Form In Spanish Football
Felix is enjoying a good run of form at the Nou Camp as he put in a series of impressive displays for Barca in the final third. The 24-year-old has banged in nine goals and grabbed five assists in 34 matches for the Catalan outfit this season across all fronts.
The Portuguese sensation has given a good account of himself on the left wing based on his average of 2.1 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 83.5% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Madrid club will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, it makes sense for Barca to try and sign him on another loan deal at the end of this campaign.
Barcelona Are Eyeing Another Loan Move For Felix: Good Move For Everyone Involved?
Felix is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can use his quickness to make life tough for his marker out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third and can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range.
The Portuguese talent is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also operate as a centre-forward if asked to do so. He is currently serving as an important member of Barcelona’s match-day squad.
We can expect Felix to help Barca compete for some major honours in the upcoming campaign. Thus, it is only logical for the Catalan club to look to arrange another loan move for him later this year.
Felix would bolster their attack next season and could help ease some of Barca‘s goal-scoring concerns for another year. However, it remains to be seen whether the Catalan giants can convince Atletico Madrid to agree on a loan deal for the player.
