Manchester City will host Brentford at the Etihad Stadium in a Premier League fixture on Tuesday. It will be a crucial battle for them as they cannot afford to drop points. They already dropped two points in their last contest with Chelsea as the match ended in a 1-1 tie.
Ranking at three in the points table, the Citizens have 53 points in 24 games. They are still four points off the table toppers Liverpool, who have played 25 rounds so far. Hence, City will be desperate to secure three vital points and get close to the ranking they want.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup Vs Brentford
Defence
Ederson failed to keep a clean sheet against Chelsea but made some vital saves. Unsurprisingly, he will once again line up in goal for Manchester City. 19-year-old Rico Lewis is likely to get a chance at the right-back position, replacing Kyle Walker.
While Ruben Dias will lead the defensive pack, John Stones is expected to join him in the centre-back position. Manuel Akanji will be benched after a dismal performance in the previous game. Nathan Ake will continue to operate in the left-back.
Midfield
Bernardo Silva is likely to start as the midfielder after he passed the fitness test and looked comfortable in the last outing. He improved the functioning of the side as soon as he stepped onto the pitch. While Rodri is an automatic pick, Matheus Nunes should join in to form the trio. Rodri saved the match against Chelsea with his killer equaliser and would love to have a similar impact in the next match as well.
Attack
Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden will operate on the flanks and will try to cut in to create goal-scoring opportunities. Erling Haaland will be the undisputed striker for Pep Guardiola’s side and will be desperate to find the back of the net.
While Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku will be sent to the bench, Jack Grealish (groin) and Josko Gvardiol (ankle) will miss the tie due to injuries.
