Chelsea will face Brentford in an away clash at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday. They missed a golden opportunity to lift the EPL CUP this season as they faced a 0-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the final.
However, the Blues came back in the very next game by beating Leeds United in the 5th round of the FA Cup. The recent win would obviously lift their morale to an extent. They are 11th in the domestic league with 35 points after 25 rounds.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup Vs Brentford
Defence
Dorde Petrovic should return as the goalkeeper for Chelsea as Robert Sanchez failed to impress in his previous outing. Despite winning the team, he failed to capitalize on the opportunity.
Malo Gusto is likely to start as the right-back despite his below-par performance against Leeds United. He needs to step up his game or else be ready to face the consequences.
The uncertainty over the participation of Thiago Silva means Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill are going to be the centre-backs. Trevoh Chalobah will be sent to the bench to make way for Colwill. Trevoh Chalobah is going to return as the left-back and will replace Alfie Gilchrist in the lineup.
Midfield
Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez will continue to play as the holding midfielders. The duo had a decent game and worked hard for the Blues.
Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer played as substitutes on Wednesday as they weren’t fully fit. But they should be starting against Brentford. Mykhaylo Mudryk is also likely to join them to form the trio. Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke will be benched by boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Attack
Nicolas Jackson will continue to lead the attacking line for Chelsea. He scored a goal against Leeds United and would be hoping to get his name on the score sheet once again.
