Manchester City will have a golden opportunity to top the Premier League points table when they take on Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday (February 10) afternoon. They are second in the table just two points behind topper Liverpool with a game in hand.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been unbeaten in their last nine games across all the competition. They recently thrashed Brentford in an away fixture, thanks to Phil Foden’s second career hattrick. With that time, they must be high in confidence and would like to extend their winning run.
4-2-3-1 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Though Ederson failed to keep a clean sheet against Brentford on Monday, he is likely to start in goal for the Citizens. He made a couple of good saves at the Gtech Community Stadium. His position in the side is unquestionable.
Kyle Walker, who returned to the side on Monday, will definitely continue to retain his position in the side despite his recent controversy. He looked solid in the last game and contributed immensely to City’s second goal.
Ruben Dias and John Stones are likely to form the heart of the defence. Pep might not risk the game by resting Ruben Dias despite the upcoming away fixture against Copenhagen in the Champions League. Stones, on the other hand, returned from injury recently and can be expected to get some game time.
For the left-back position, Nathan Ake is the front-runner even ahead of Josko Gvardiol considering the kind of football that Everton plays.
Midfield
Rodri and Matheus Nunes are likely to start as the holding midfielders and will aim to control the tempo of the game, especially in the opponent’s half. These two will be accompanied by the trio of Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden.
These three attacking options will have to be at their best to create goal-scoring opportunities.
Attack
Erling Haaland is going to lead the offensive attack and a lot of eyes will be upon him. He made his first start against Brentford after a span of two months and looked fresh without any worries. Despite having not found the back of the net since injury, he is still the joint top scorer of the league alongside Mohamed Salah.
