Donny van de Beek, the midfielder for Manchester United, might be leaving the club for good. He couldn’t settle at Old Trafford since he moved there from Ajax. Even though he signed a contract until June 2025 with the Premier League giants, he’s currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.
Donny van de Beek could go back to Ajax
Manchester United understand they won’t get back much of the money they spent on Donny van de Beek. They bought him from Ajax for £34.6 million in 2020, thinking he’d be a great player. But now, at 26 years old, things haven’t gone as well as he’d expected.
Donny van de Beek didn’t fit in with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans at Manchester United. He also fell out of favor with Erik ten Hag, a manager he knew from Ajax. So, he had to go on loan to different teams, including Eintracht Frankfurt. He signed with Eintracht Frankfurt in January and will stay there for the rest of the season. If he does well, he might get the chance to stay there permanently for only £9.4 million.
A report from Football Insider says if Frankfurt wants to keep van de Beek, United will gladly let him go, even if it means losing a lot of money, around £25 million. But there’s also news that Ajax might sign him in the summer.

In the early part of 2023, Donny van de Beek’s football career was affected when he got a ligament injury and couldn’t play. Even after recovering, he only got to play a little bit in one league match. Wanting more time on the field, the Dutch midfielder is moving to Germany after only playing twice for United this season.
Van de Beek played 62 games for Manchester United and scored just two goals. He also played seven games for Everton when he was on loan in 2022. When he was with Ajax, he helped them get to the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2019. For his country, the Netherlands, he played 19 times and scored three goals.
