Chelsea will welcome Leeds United at Stamford Bridge this Wednesday night as they look to bounce back with a win at home in the FA Cup. The Blues suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss after extra-time against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup recently. Hence, the Chelsea players would be eager to put in a good performance in midweek.
Mauricio Pochettino will once again opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a whole host of changes to his first team for this game. Trevoh Chalobah, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke will all get a chance to impress from the start of this clash.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Leeds United
Defence
Robert Sanchez will play in goal for the Blues as he looks to secure a clean sheet on the road in midweek. Alfie Gilchrist will operate alongside Trevoh Chalobah at the centre of the Chelsea backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Malo Gusto will fill in as the right-back while Levi Colwill hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Axel Disasi and Ben Chilwell will be rested on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher will operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Raheem Sterling, Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke will play just ahead of them as part of Pochettino’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if they want to create enough clear-cut chances for the Blues to win this cup game.
Moises Caicedo will be named on the bench.
Attack
Mykhailo Mudryk will lead the charge for the West London giants in the final third. He would be hungry to find the back of the net after producing an underwhelming performance off the bench in the EFL Cup final.
Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer will get a rest on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if required.
