Chelsea entertained Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they looked to secure a win in the second leg of their EFL Cup semifinal clash. The Blues made a great start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 15th minute when Jonny Howson scored an unfortunate own goal. Enzo Fernandez doubled Chelsea’s advantage in the 29th minute before Axel Disasi scored with a calm finish just seven minutes later. Cole Palmer put his team 4-0 ahead in the 42nd minute as Mauricio Pochettino’s men went into the half-time break 4-0 to the good.
Palmer scored again in the 77th minute before Noni Madueke made it 6-0 to Chelsea just four minutes later. Middlesbrough scored a late goal thanks to Mordan Rogers’ effort as the Blues cruised to a 6-1 win in front of their home fans.

He caught the eye at times in the final third and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

Palmer was a constant menace in front of the opponent’s goal and scored a brace for his team tonight.

He caused some headaches for the opposition defenders but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
