Ivan Toney was suspended for eight months after breaking betting rules. But, after 245 days and 25 games, he’ll return to Brentford’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Brentford’s coach, Thomas Frank, is missing some players due to injury and a tournament, therefore Toney’s comeback is very vital. Toney recently discussed his future.
Ivan Toney on his future
Ivan Toney couldn’t play football for a long time, but now he can join the Bees’ team for their match against Nottingham Forest this weekend. Last season, Toney was really good and scored a lot, making him one of the top forwards in the Premier League. Some people even think he’s the second-best forward for England after Harry Kane. In the last two seasons, he scored 32 goals in 66 games, which is almost a goal every other game for Brentford.
Brentford hasn’t been doing well without him. They used to finish in the middle of the table for two seasons, but now, after losing five games in a row, they are very close to the bottom. They really hope Ivan Toney, who is 27 years old, stays with them and starts playing like he used to, because he’s a really good forward that many teams like Chelsea and Arsenal want.
Toney has said that he wants to play for a really good team that competes for trophies.
“You can never predict when is the right time to move elsewhere, but I think it’s obvious I want to play for a top club,” Toney said.
“It’s obvious I want to play for a top club. Whether that’s January, if a club wants to come in and pay the money, who knows?” he added.

Toney has a goal he wants to achieve this season, but he won’t say what it is. The main goal for him is to help Brentford stay in the Premier League. The club has supported Toney and his family since he admitted to betting charges, helping him come back.
