In a recent tweet, journalist Rudy Galetti claimed that Everton are eyeing a loan move for Liverpool playmaker Fabio Carvalho. It has been stated that the Toffees could face competition in the form of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City in pursuit of the English attacker this month.
🚨↩️ #Liverpool will let Fabio #Carvalho go on loan also in this second part of the season after his return from #RBLeipzig.
🗣️ Some 🏴 clubs – #Everton, #Wolves and #Leicester among others – asked info about him: the 🇵🇹, together with #LFC, will take a decision soon. 🐓⚽ pic.twitter.com/cbiRNkhm9G

Carvalho’s Uneventful Loan Spell In German Football
Carvalho experienced a lackluster loan spell at Red Bull Leipzig recently as he struggled to earn regular first-team starts in the Bundesliga. The English sensation made 15 appearances for the German club but failed to find the back of the net or pick up an assist for them in multiple competitions.
The 21-year-old saw most of his game time come off the bench which could be why he averaged 0.3 shots, 0.2 key passes and 0.3 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. He was tidy with his ball distribution based on his pass success rate of 82.4% in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
Carvalho is under contract at Liverpool until 2027. Thus, it makes sense for Everton to try and arrange a loan move for him if they are willing to play him often in the second half of this campaign.
Is Carvalho A Good Fit For Everton Head Coach Sean Dyche?
Carvalho can shoot the ball purely from long range and can create the odd chance for his teammates in the attacking end of the pitch. He is a good dribbler with the ball as well but needs to find a way to be more productive in front of the opposition goal.
The English sensation mainly functions as an attacking midfielder but can also play as a left-sided wide player or as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so. Hence, he would fit Everton‘s needs quite well as they are in dire need of adding more firepower to their attack.
Carvalho is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Goodison Park in the second half of this Premier League season. Hence, the Toffees should consider trying everything they can to sign the English attacker on loan before the end of this January transfer window.
