Manchester United will lock horns with Liverpool at Anfield this Sunday evening as they try to grind out a result on their travels in the Premier League. The Red Devils suffered a lackluster 1-0 loss against Bayern Munich in midweek which has drained their confidence even more ahead of this clash.
Erik ten Hag will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could be forced to make some tweaks to his first team for this game. Jonny Evans, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kobbie Mainoo will get an opportunity to play from the start of this contest.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Liverpool
Defence
Andre Onana will operate in between the sticks for Man United after conceding one goal in his last outing. Jonny Evans will play alongside Raphael Varane at the heart of ten Hag’s defence as they try to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the game.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will fill in as the right-back while Diogo Dalot hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Ten Hag will ask both of them to perform their defensive duties well so that they can contain the Liverpool wide players this weekend.
Both Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are major doubts for this game. However, Sergio Reguilon will be available for selection on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Kobbie Mainoo and Sofyan Amrabat will anchor the midfield for the Mancunian club as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles in the middle of the park. The talented trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Scott McTominay and Antony will operate just ahead of them as part of ten Hag’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if they want to pose a threat on the counter.
Bruno Fernandes is suspended for this game. However, Facundo Pellistri will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if ten Hag decides to call upon his services.
Attack
Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line for the Red Devils up top. He would be keen on causing problems for the Liverpool defenders on the counter.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are both significant concerns ahead of this game.
