United will play against West Ham in the Premier League next. This is the first of three fast-paced games they have before the New Year. They will also have matches with Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest soon. However, their main focus right now is on playing against West Ham at the London Stadium.
However, United’s think tank will also have one eye on the upcoming transfer window. Erik ten Hag spoke to reporters today at Manchester United’s latest press conference. He discussed the upcoming winter transfer market.
Erik Ten Hag on the upcoming transfer market
“I’m happy with the current squad. We just had too many players not available,” Ten Hag said.
“When players are back as Casemiro will be back, Martinez will be back, Mason Mount will be back… we will be much stronger after the window,” he added.

Ten Hag expressed satisfaction with the current squad, noting that the team faced challenges with several players being unavailable. He mentioned that once key players like Casemiro, Martinez, and Mason Mount return, the team will significantly improve after the transfer window.
Ten Hag also shared news about Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez, who have been out for a while. He also talked about Mason Mount and Harry Maguire’s fitness. Another teammate had surgery recently. Ten Hag talked about trusting Rasmus Hojlund, who hasn’t scored in the Premier League yet and addressed questions about the upcoming January transfer window.
United is uncertain about some players for their game against West Ham, and Victor Lindelof will be out for a long time after surgery. Erik ten Hag mentioned that several players got sick this week, and they’re working hard to be ready for the Saturday match. Lindelof had surgery for an unspecified injury, but Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez should be back playing next month.
Ten Hag also said his players need to improve their goal-scoring ability when they go to London on December 23 to face West Ham United in the English Premier League. They haven’t won in their last three games, but a 0-0 draw with Liverpool last weekend has given them hope. Ten Hag’s club sits seventh in the table with 28 points, one point above West Ham, who lost 5-1 to Liverpool in the League Cup quarterfinals.
