In a recent report, Todo Fichajes claimed that Barcelona are eyeing a swap deal for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. It has been stated that the Catalan club are ready to send Raphinha to Old Trafford so that they can land the English attacker next year.
Rashford’s Inconsistent Numbers At Man United
Rashford is having an inconsistent campaign at the Mancunian club as he has struggled to prove his worth for them in front of the opponent’s goal. The English talent has found the back of the net twice and earned four assists in 18 matches for Man United this season across all competitions.
The 26-year-old has been a decent performer in the final third and deserves some credit for averaging 2.8 shots, 1.2 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 79.5% in the English top tier (stats via whoscored)
His current deal at Old Trafford will expire in the summer of 2028. Hence, Barcelona would find it difficult to finance a deal to sign him next year.
Barcelona Are Eyeing A Swap Deal For Rashford: Good Move For Everyone Involved?
Rashford excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third and remains a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The English talent has struggled to prove his value in front of the opponent’s goal this season and could welcome a change of scenery in 2024.
Thus, it makes sense for Barcelona boss Xavi to give up Raphinha to bring Rashford to the Nou Camp. He would enhance the quality of Barca’s first team and could help the Catalan club challenge for a few major honours over the next few years.
