Manchester United will welcome Bayern Munich at Old Trafford this Tuesday night as they look to earn all three points at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils suffered a dismal 3-0 loss at the hands of Bournemouth recently which has drained their confidence ahead of this European game.
Erik ten Hag will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could name a strong first XI for this game. Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford could both get a chance to impress from the start of this contest.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Bayern Munich
Defence
Andre Onana will feature in between the sticks for the Red Devils after shipping in three goals in his last league outing. Harry Maguire will resume his defensive partnership with Raphael Varane at the centre of Man United’s defence as they try to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka could get the nod to operate as the right-back while Luke Shaw looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Ten Hag will ask them to perform their defensive duties so that the Red Devils can stop Bayern from creating too many chances from the wide areas.
Jonny Evans will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay will anchor the midfield for the Mancunian side as they focus on making life tough for the German side at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Antony will play just ahead of them as part of ten Hag’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if Man United are to create enough chances to win this contest at Old Trafford.
Alejandro Garnacho will have to be content with a place on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Rasmus Hojlund will lead the charge for Man United on the offensive end of the field. He would have to carry most of the goal-scoring burden for the home side up top.
Anthony Martial will be named on the bench.
