West Ham United will entertain Arsenal at the London Stadium this Wednesday night as they look to secure a win in the EFL Cup. The Hammers suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Everton recently, so they would be eager to bounce back with a positive result in this London derby.
David Moyes will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could be inclined to make some changes for this game. Danny Ings will lead the line for the East London club in the final third.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski will feature in between the sticks for the Gunners as he hopes to secure a shutout against his former club in this derby. Angelo Ogbonna will partner Konstantinos Mavropanos at the centre of the West Ham backline as they attempt to keep the Arsenal forwards frustrated throughout the game.
Thilo Kehrer will fill in as the right-back while Emerson Palmieri looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Moyes will ask both of them to keep a solid defensive shape at the back so that they can limit the chances the Gunners create from the flanks.
Kurt Zouma will get a rest on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Tomas Soucek and James Ward-Prowse will anchor the midfield for the Hammers. Their main focus would be to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Maxwel Cornet will function just ahead of them as part of Moyes’ attack. They have to link up with each other well if West Ham want to cause problems for the Arsenal defenders on the counter.
Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Moyes decides to call upon their services.
Attack
Danny Ings will spearhead West Ham’s attack in the final third. The English talent has to find a way to threaten the opponent’s goal during the 90 minutes.
Michail Antonio will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he awaits his opportunity to impress in the latter stages of the contest if needed.
