Aston Villa will travel to Stamford Bridge this Sunday as they look to secure a victory against Chelsea. The Villans suffered a 2-3 loss against Legia Warszawa in the group stages of the Europa Conference League, so they will have to perform better in order to secure win in this Premier League contest.
Unai Emery will opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his starting XI this weekend. Ollie Watkins will look to play from the start while Douglas Luiz replaces Youri Tielemans in the middle of the park.
4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted XI Vs Chelsea
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will continue as the goalkeeper after he shipped in three goals in his last appearance. Pau Torres will replace Clement Lenglet to form the centre-back partnership with Ezri Konsa on the defensive end of the field as they try to keep the Chelsea attackers quiet during the game.
Matty Cash will look to impress as the right-back while Lucas Digne focuses on putting in a solid display as the left-back. Emery will ask both of them to be more adventurous than usual as Aston Villa look to go all out for the win this weekend.
Clement Lenglet will provide cover for the centre-half positions on the bench.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara will operate as the holding midfielders as they try to give a good account of themselves at the centre of the park.
Said Benrahma will try to put in an energetic display on the left flank while Nicolo Zaniolo gets an opportunity to prove his worth as the right-sided wide player. Moussa Diaby will operate as the advanced attacking midfielder tasked with creating opportunities in front of the goal.
Youri Tielemans will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will lead the charge for the Villans up top. He would be hungry to find the back of the net and put his name on the scoresheet in this away encounter.
Jhon Duran will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter if Aston Villa are in need of a goal by then.
