Liverpool entertained Aston Villa at Anfield earlier today as they hoped to earn a win at home in the Premier League. The Reds made an electric start to the game as they scored the opening goal in the third minute thanks to a great strike from Dominik Szoboszlai. Matty Cash scored an unfortunate own goal in the 22nd minute which doubled Liverpool’s lead. The Merseyside club went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.
Mohamed Salah put the contest to bed when he got his name on the scoresheet in the 55th minute from point-blank range. Jurgen Klopp‘s men ended up securing an impressive 3-0 victory in front of their home fans.

The Brazilian keeper made a few solid saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet at Anfield.

Matip kept things solid when defending inside his half and did enough to restrict the opposition from scoring.

He performed his defensive duties well and was a good presence on the ball.
LB: Andrew Robertson – 7/10
Robertson kept a good shape at the back and made one key chance going forward.
CM: Dominik Szoboszlai – 8/10
He caused all sorts of problems for the Aston Villa defenders and scored a great goal to open the scoring for Liverpool in the third minute.
CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 7/10
Mac Allister got stuck in with a few solid tackles and distributed the ball accurately from midfield.
CM: Curtis Jones – 6.5/10
He linked up play well with others around him but never looked like he would score.
RW: Mohamed Salah – 8/10
Salah was a constant menace in the final third and got his deserved goal ten minutes into the second half.
ST: Darwin Nunez – 7.5/10
Nunez hit the post twice during the game and was unlucky not to score today. However, he came off the field with an assist to his name for setting up Salah’s goal.
LW: Luis Diaz – 6.5/10
He showed a few flashes of what he can do but there was no goal for him today.
