Aston Villa clashed heads with Liverpool at Anfield earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Villans made a slow start to the contest and conceded the opening goal in the third minute when Dominik Szoboszlai scored with a great strike. Matty Cash scored an unfortunate own goal in the 22nd minute as Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time interval 2-0 down on the scoreline.

Mohamed Salah killed the game off in the 55th minute as the West Midlands club crashed to a 3-0 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Aston Villa player performed during the clash against the Reds.

GK: Emiliano Martinez – 5.5/10

The Argentine keeper made one good save in the game but won’t be pleased after conceding three times today.

CB: Pau Torres – 6/10

Torres made two crucial clearances inside his half and made some decent runs with the ball.

CB: Diego Carlos – 6/10

The Brazilian got injured and was replaced in the 18th minute.

CB: Ezri Konsa – 6.5/10

He cleared the danger when needed and was accurate with his passing.

RM: Matty Cash – 5.5/10

He worked his socks off on the defensive end of the field but was guilty of scoring an own goal in the 22nd minute.

CM: Boubacar Kamara – 6/10

Kamara tried his best to protect his backline but offered very little going forward.

CM: Douglas Luiz – 6/10

Luiz made a few solid tackles but was far from convincing at the centre of the park.

LM: Lucas Digne – 7/10

The French talent did his best to contain Mohamed Salah and made multiple important interceptions at the back.

RAM: Moussa Diaby – 6/10

His pace caused a few problems for the Liverpool defenders. However, Diaby failed to find the back of the net.

LAM: John McGinn – 6.5/10

McGinn made two positive runs with the ball but never looked like he would score.

ST: Ollie Watkins – 6/10

The English striker worked hard but hardly got a sniff at goal.

RW: Leon Bailey – 6/10

He completed two eye-catching dribbles but failed to trouble the Liverpool keeper.

CAM: Nicolo Zaniolo – 6.5/10

Zaniolo had two bright moments in the game.

CM: Youri Tielemans – 6/10

He added some energy to Unai Emery’s midfield.

ST: Jhon Duran – 6/10

Duran didn’t have his shooting boots on.
