Newcastle United clashed heads with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium earlier this evening as they hoped to secure a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Magpies made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 27th minute when Evan Ferguson found the back of the net for the home side. Eddie Howe’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Ferguson doubled his team’s lead in the 65th minute before completing his hat trick just five minutes later. Callum Wilson scored a late consolation goal as the Magpies ended up suffering a poor 3-1 loss away from home.

The Italian talent made a couple of decent chances in the final third but could last only 57 minutes.

He had a couple of bright moments in the opposition half but there was no goal for him.

Joelinton made two positive runs with the ball and was quiet for most of his time on the field.
RW: Miguel Almiron – 6/10
Almiron struggled to catch the eye on the right flank and was substituted in the 57th minute.
ST: Alexander Isak – 6.5/10
He was not shy of having a strike at goal but failed to take any of his chances.
LW: Anthony Gordon – 6.5/10
Gordon showed a few flashes of what he can do but lacked quality in the final third.
